Lucy Catherine Ferguson

Without mentioning your job title, how would you describe what it is you do now?

I am an advocate for people charged with criminal offences. I aim to ensure that people feel comfortable and have a proper understanding of what to expect when they are in court.

What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?

My love for problem solving, helping people and true crime documentaries.

What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?

Inclusion, Multiculturalism, Collaboration

What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?

I strongly believe that people in the legal industry need to be slower to judge. This along with being more open-minded and accepting of each others differences will allow us to not only be more inclusive but will also allow us to bring in different kinds of thinking into the legal industry.

Lucy is a Solicitor at Clarity Law.
