Jacqueline Grinsell is a Senior Legal Counsel at Australian Agricultural Company (AACo). Passionate about advancing sustainability practices within the agricultural sector, Jacqueline’s legal expertise across diverse matters supports AACo’s commitment to innovative environmental management.
Within my current role, I manage a wide variety of legal matters for a well-established, publicly listed beef cattle company. On a daily basis, my role involves collaborating with a diverse array of stakeholders, which might include investors, political figures, or First Nations Peoples. I draft documents of all types including for land sales or purchases, stock exchange transactions, board papers, and sales or marketing contracts across international markets like London and Dubai. My favourite work is on projects which advance sustainable practices within the agricultural sector.
What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?
Respecting unique identities.
What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?
To achieve genuine industry diversity, we must persist with dismantling entrenched stereotypes of legal professionals. This process is aided by increasing the representation of marginalised groups through inclusive recruitment practices and the promotion of diverse leadership.
What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?
The influence of my father, who was a lawyer, inspired my decision to enter the legal industry.
