Her story

Anna is the Deputy General Counsel at Iberdrola Australia.

Without mentioning your job title, how would you describe what it is you do now (whether at home, work, in the community, etc.)?

I provide legal and strategic advice and support to the business to achieve its objectives, all the while aiming to make work a fulfilling and enjoyable place to be.

What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?

Valuing different perspectives.

What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?

Promoting people who come from a range of backgrounds (including gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexuality, religion and disability) to leadership positions. Supporting both men and women to work flexibly. Providing meaningful training to lawyers, particularly in relation to unconscious bias.

What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?

A passion for learning, challenges and finding purpose.
