Her story

Claire is a Senior Legal Advisor at Logan City Council.

Without mentioning your job title, how would you describe what it is you do now (whether at home, work, in the community, etc.)?

Problem solver, solutions finder

What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?

Experience, perspective, divergent.

What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?

Structural obstacles being removed to allow more diverse people ending up in influential positions within the industry. Sadly, which private school a person went to still seems to be a major factor in career progression.

What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?

I was actually not sure when I started if it was the right job for me. I found out that I was able to help people solve problems and in local government, it feels like delivering for the community, and I like that.
