Her story

Hayley is a Partner at McCullough Robertson Lawyers.

Without mentioning your job title, how would you describe what it is you do now (whether at home, work, in the community, etc.)?

As a professional, I advise on the complexities created by family dynamics, aging and the passing of wealth. As a parent I constantly pick up stuff from the floor, kitchen bench and other random spaces.

What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?

Work in progress.

What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?

For those within the industry that have the time and passion to make diverse thinking their priority to do so and be unapologetic. For those who don't, to listen and take guidance from those who do.

What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?

Rather uninspiringly it was because it was the longest degree I could do without going into medicine. I thought it would give me time to figure out what I really wanted to do in the real world! But in all seriousness, I found I really enjoy the problem solving side of the law, and the connections I can make with my clients, colleagues and broader advisory community.

Contribute to the rich tapestry of women in Australian law

This campaign is not just a reflection of the past; it's an invitation to join the celebration of women in law. We invite you to nominate other women within the legal industry to share their stories, anecdotes, and tributes. Together, let's honour their legacy and inspire future generations.
