Her story

Nicola is a Special Counsel at McCullough Robertson Lawyers.

Without mentioning your job title, how would you describe what it is you do now (whether at home, work, in the community, etc.)?

Problem-solving and organisation.

What are the first three words you think of when you hear the word ‘diversity’?

Levelling the field.

What do you think it will take to develop truly diverse thinking within the legal industry?

To have truly diverse thinking, the legal industry needs a diverse workforce that is reflective of society at large.  While we have seen improvements in some areas, there is still a way to go.

What was your main driver to enter the legal industry?

I took part in a mooting competition in year 9, which I really enjoyed, then as a teenager I got hooked on several TV legal dramas.  Imagine my delight when through my law degree, I discovered the law itself was more fascinating that the theatre of the courtroom or the relationship dynamics portrayed in TV shows!
